Snow Day....sort of

Wow- we got a ton of snow last night! But of course, seeing as I go to OT school at a hospital, we didn't get off school. It felt like I was snowshoe-ing when I was walking up the hill because the sidewalks weren't shoveled at all! It was like being back in Colorado all over again! Which was really fun by the way- R did a great job skiing, especially since it was just his third time. I didn't get much knitting done though- we were just too tired to do anything but eat and then go to bed after we got done skiing everyday! I did finish the first Waving Lace sock from Favorite Socks. And my Woolgirl order came- Dream in Color Smooshy in Giant Peach and Deep Seaflower, Seacoast Handpaints in Chocolate Cherries, Strawberry Patch, and Calypso, and Dashing Dachs Dach Sox in Apple Snap- it's so much fun to get yarn in the mail! Speaking of getting yarn in the mail- I won one of Storey Publishing's Skein a Month prizes! I completely forgot I had even entered, so that was a great surprise to get that email. I also got myself one last Christmas present- a new knitting bag. I really wanted more of a big purse style bag, so I could stop carrying around a purse and a knitting bag. I was going to order the Namaste Jetsetter bag from Joann.com, but I got antsy waiting for a 50% off coupon, so I just went to Marshall's and got a nice looking Etienne Agner bag that has a ton of pockets. Of course, the next day, I got a 50% off coupon in my email....oh well. Muggle bunny is back at home with us, and enjoying his new bunny condo. We're going to a Missouri House Rabbit Society meeting on Saturday, to see how Muggle reacts to other bunnies, so we can start looking around for a little girlfriend for him ;) . I'm on R's laptop right now, so no pictures today, but I'll try and put some more up of Muggle and hopefully my finished Waving Lace Socks this weekend!

Off to ski, off to ski....

So, this is my first blog post! And actually, unless we can somehow find wireless internet in the wilds of Colorado, it will be the last one until Sunday, because we are leaving to go to skiing and won't be back until then ;) ! My fiancee, R and I are going with my dad for a few days...woo hoo! Anyways, this was the Christmas of socks! R bought me (after some not so subtle hinting) 4 skeins of sock yarn from Woolgirl (Dream in Color Smooshy in Beach Fog and Petal Shower, Dashing Dachs Fingering in the Anniversary Colorway, and Miss Bab's Yummy sock yarn in Chocolate Roses), then when we went home for Christmas I went to our hometown LYS and bought a little Lorna's Laces SS in Flamingo stripe, plus one other skein of some pretty Prism sock yarn (that ended up being $30!....yikes! good thing it was Christmas money!). Here they are, minus the Prism

I also finally got some sock blockers- just in time to block the Embossed Leaves socks from Favorite Socks:

Those were done in pink/yellow variegated Lorna's Laces SS, and I was pretty excited how they came out. In other news, my Christmas knitting was very well-received. My mom really liked her Booga bag and scarf I made her, and R's mom said she wanted to frame her Brooke's Column of Leaves scarf, my dad really liked his blue striped socks for his size 13 EEE feet, R's dad liked his hat (I think ;) ), and R's little sister slept in the hat and scarf I made her. Right now, I just turned the heel and picked up the rest of the foot stitches on the Waving Lace socks from Favorite Socks. I'm using Smooshy in Beach fog, and although it's going really well, I think I had more fun with the Embossed Leaves pattern. We'll see! I should have those finished and a pair of Monkey's well underway, with the 15 hour drive there, and then 15 hours back- plus lots of down-time after skiing!
Our ninja bunny, Muggle, is still vacationing at R's parents house- in his teeny (well teeny compared to the bunny condo we just built him) little cage, and getting either fatter, or fluffier.....it's a little hard to tell with him. They've been really nice taking care of him for the past week, but I'll be glad when he's back home with us!
Notice his extremely large back feet- good for ninja jumps!
I'm also expecting a new order from Woolgirl in a few days- I spent the rest of my Christmas money from their New Year's sale. I asked Jen if she could wait and ship it later this week since we're going to be out of town, so she's shipping it out today I think. I love her customer service...and their yarn of course! I think that's where my presents from R are going to be coming from from now on....... ;) . So anyways, I'm off to ski, knit, and enjoy my last few days of freedom from classes- it's back to the grind in the middle of next week!
